Harry Frederick Gerard Hadden-Paton, born in London, England, is a British actor widely recognized for his work in television, film, and theatre. He hails from a landed gentry family of Rossway, near Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Hadden-Paton attended prestigious institutions including Eton College and Durham University before training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Since graduating from LAMDA in 2006, Harry became a prominent stage actor. Notable performances include Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet at Battersea Arts Centre; Jack Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest at Vaudeville Theatre; Captain Jack Absolute in The Rivals at Southwark Playhouse, Harry Villiers in Posh at Royal Court Theatre; and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady at the Lincoln Center Theater on Broadway and later at the London Coliseum — a role for which he earned a Tony nomination and won a Theatre World Award.

Harry is best known for his roles as Herbert "Bertie" Pelham, 7th Marquess of Hexham in the final seasons Downton Abbey (2014–2015) and Martin Charteris in The Crown (2016–2017). He also appeared in series such as Versailles, Wallander, and Industry.

His film credits include roles in movies such as Twisters (2024), The Little Stranger(2018), About Time (2013), and The Deep Blue Sea(2011).

He has also reprised his role as Lord Hexham in the big screen sequel movies Downton Abbey (2019), Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) and Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025).

Harry Hadden-Paton’s career continues to flourish across Broadway, the West End, and international screen projects, earning him acclaim from critics and audiences alike for his refined performances and dedication to his craft.

Harry married actress Rebecca Night on May 2, 2010. The couple has two children, Martha and Audrey.
