Jiang Ling Bao was only three months old when she left China to join her adoptive family in Toronto. At 15, she decides to return to her native country, eager to perfect the art of Tai Chi, which she’s been practicing for several years. The teen goes to a prestigious school in the heart of the Wudang Mountains, where, despite her inability to speak Mandarin, Jiang is quickly accepted by her classmates. She also meets Chen Jun, a famous erhu player from the mountains who’s come to the school in search of inspiration. Jiang Ling learns a culture about which she knew nothing, but that is nonetheless part of her roots.
