Nick Pasqual in How I Met Your MotherActor Nick Pasqual, who has appeared on numerous television series, including How I Met Your Mother, has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison for the attempted murder of his estranged girlfriend, Los Angeles makeup artist Allie Shehorn.

Following a jury trial, Pasqual was convicted of attempted murder, injuring a spouse or partner, first-degree burglary, and rape in connection with a violent attack that occurred in 2024. According to prosecutors, Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home in the Shadow Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles shortly before 4:30 a.m. on May 23, 2024.

The attack came just days after Shehorn obtained a restraining order against Pasqual after another fight in which Shehorn told ABC, ""I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open. I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there's another lock on that door.” Pasqual was arrested, but released on $50,000 bail five days before stabbing Shehorn.

Court documents detailed allegations of sexual and physical abuse, although it remains unclear whether Pasqual had been formally served with the order before the stabbing took place. Shehorn was discovered by her roommate, Christine White, who immediately contacted emergency services. The Los Angeles Times reported that Shehorn suffered more than 20 stab wounds during the assault. She underwent emergency surgery and spent several days in intensive care before ultimately surviving her injuries.

Authorities later located Pasqual at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He was arrested and subsequently extradited to Los Angeles to face charges. In addition to the criminal proceedings, Shehorn has filed a civil lawsuit against Pasqual, alleging sexual battery, assault, negligence, and other claims. The sentencing brings the criminal case stemming from the attack to a close, though the civil litigation remains ongoing.

After Tuesday's sentencing, a statement from Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman read: "Allie Shehorn miraculously survived and courageously stood before her abuser in court to testify about the brutality she endured. Her trial testimony was crucial in securing a guilty verdict so Mr. Pasqual could no longer be free to hurt anyone else... This case underscores the painful reality that domestic violence thrives when its victims live in fear and stay silent. It can erupt into life-threatening violence, and far too many victims never get the chance to see their abusers brought to justice." ~Megan Parsons

The assaults will not end as the individual has uncontrollable rage and anger deep within. These feelings actually control the individual all hours of the day and night. Many have split personalities and appear calm and relaxed. Unfortunately, the slightest thing can trigger those feelings which turn into uncontrollable physical assaults lashing out at the person most closest to him. A small percentage will display remorse after an episode, but it's a false sense of regret. This sickness has no cure. Very few victims survive to tell their story and some won't due to extreme fear. In a few cases the physical assault was so severe the mind blocks it and the victim doesn't remember anything about the assault. Nothing.

I am sooo happy justice was served but I hope he never gets out of prison; he should suffer & die there alone & scared just like his girlfriend felt when he decided to play GOD and end her life!!! I am glad she came forward & testified as many others don't , out of fear or shame! She is very brave and I only wish that she NEVER had to endure the pain & suffering she went through physically, & emotionally but am very thankful that she survived this brutal attack and was significant in putting her abuser & attempted killer in prison , hopefully for the rest of his life!!! I hope & pray that she can put this behind her and gets all the support she needs, both mentally & emotionally and in living her life each day. No woman deserves to go through what this woman has & I hope her speaking out, gives others who are abused the courage to come forward also!!! GOD BLESS HER ALWAYS & MAY SHE FIND LOVE, HAPPINESS & THE PEACE SHE DESERVES!!! GOOD LUCK, YOU'RE VALUABLE & LOVED BY GOD?
