Amy Adams has recounted the heroic moment she used basic first aid knowledge she learned while working on the 2004 medical drama Dr. Vegas, to help a stabbing victim.

During the most recent episode of the SmartLess podcast, hosted by  Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Amy recalled being first on the scene of a horrific crime outside a Santa Monica restaurant after she and her family had just left their "favorite" spot.

"These people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, ‘He's dying!’ And my husband screamed, "That's blood!'" Amy recalled, describing how quickly the situation escalated as they realized someone had been seriously injured.

Amy determined that the man had been stabbed in the neck. While her husband stayed back with their daughter, Amy and her father rushed in to help. The two used beach towels to apply pressure to the wound while she remained focused on keeping the situation under control.

Amy said she tried to calm the injured man by telling him, "The more you struggle, the faster you’re going to bleed. Just lay down," explaining that her time on Dr. Vegas had taught her enough first aid to stay composed in the emergency.

A year later, Amy unexpectedly ran into the man at a restaurant. When he introduced himself, she realized who he was and exclaimed, "Oh my God, it's you," before the pair shared an emotional reunion that she recalled left him "teary."

Amy currently appears in Apple TV+’s psychological thriller Cape Fear, opposite Patrick Wilson and Javier Bardem, in a remake of the 1962 and 1991 films. ~Megan Parsons
