Disney Studios at CinemaCon 2026

The Walt Disney Studios closed out the 2026 CinemaCon studio presentations in Las Vegas last night with a high-energy showcase of its upcoming theatrical slate, unveiling exclusive footage and major announcements across its film divisions.

So far in 2026, the studio has released two original films -- 20th Century Studios' Send Help and Disney and Pixar's Hoppers -- both of which were well received by critics and audiences alike. Hoppers has since crossed $350 million globally and has delivered the biggest domestic debut for an original animated film since Coco in 2017.

One of the major highlights of the presentation was the debut of the final trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu. The film stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White and follows Din Djarin and Grogu as the scattered remnants of the fallen Empire threaten the fragile stability of the New Republic. As Imperial warlords operate across the galaxy, the New Republic enlists the legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter and his young apprentice to confront the growing threat. Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5 was also among the highlights. The film, which opens in theaters June 19, 2026, explores a new clash between classic toys and modern technology. An exclusive clip was shown before Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, who return as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, took the stage. The longtime co-stars briefly discussed revisiting the roles and introduced additional footage from the film.

The presentation then shifted to Disney’s live-action Moana, set for release July 10, 2026. Dwayne Johnson appeared on stage to discuss the project, joined by newcomer Catherine Lagaʻaia, who makes her feature debut as the title character. The pair spoke about bringing the animated favorite into live action before introducing new footage. Lagaʻaia is also set to be honoured with CinemaCon’s Rising Star of 2026 Award at the Big Screen Achievement Awards.

The studio closed out the presentation with one of its most anticipated releases, Avengers: Doomsday. Robert Downey Jr. made a dramatic entrance from the back of the Dolby Colosseum to the delight of attendees, making his way to the stage where he introduced an exclusive first look at footage from the film, before bringing Chris Evans on stage.

In Avengers: Doomsday, heroes from multiple universes are set on a collision course as they confront an existential threat unlike anything they have faced before. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Stephen McFeely, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, and many more!

The film hits theaters December 18, 2026. ~Megan Parsons
