Gosling defends Spears

Ryan Gosling at TIFF press conferenceDuring an interview with ET Canada at the Toronto International Film Festival, Ryan Gosling defended his former Mickey Mouse Club co-star, Britney Spears, saying “I wish people would leave her alone. They might as well burn her at the stake while they’re at it. Like, how much can one person take?” Gosling was at the Fest to promote his new flick, Lars and the Real Girl.

    She's a mother of two, she's a has-been performer trying to either maintain her wild-girl image, to what end is beyond any of us, or she's trying to burn out and be imortalized like Michael Hutchence. I love INXS, but c'mon! Unless you're the Rolling Stones, there's no way your actions are gonna be overlooked!
