New movies in theaters - Primate, Greenland 2 and more

The first new movies of 2026 offer up a wide selection of genres, including horror with Primate and the action sequel, Greenland 2: Migration. Check them all out below to find out which movies pique your interest this weekend. ~Alexandra Heilbron 

Primate - College student Lucy (Johnny Sequoyah) returns home to her father's (Troy Kotsur) home in Hawaii for the summer with her friends Kate and Hannah. Also living there is a rescued chimp named Ben, who has become a member of the family. Soon after the girls arrive, Ben begins behaving in a strange and violent manner. Click here for showtimes.

Greenland 2: Migration - In the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated most of the earth, the Garrity family (Gerard ButlerMorena Baccarin, and Roman Griffin Davis) are forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home. Is This Thing On? - As their marriage quietly unravels, Alex (Will Arnett) faces middle age and an impending divorce, seeking new purpose in the New York comedy scene while Tess (Laura Dern) confronts the sacrifices she made for their family — forcing them to navigate co-parenting, identity, and whether love can take a new form. Labyrinth 40th Anniversary - Frustrated with babysitting on yet another weekend night, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly), a teenager with an active imagination, summons the Goblins to take her baby stepbrother away. The Choral - 1916. As war rages, the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire has lost most of its men to the army. The Choral’s committee decides to recruit local young males to swell their ranks. They must also engage a new chorus master -- Dr. Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes), recently returned from Germany. As conscription papers start to arrive, the community discovers the best response to the chaos is to make music together.     I've been waiting for Will Arnett's movie to come out. I've heard it's really good.
