Just one new movie made it into the top five this weekend, but it didn't come close to knocking the fan-favorite new Spider-Man movie from its spot at the top. Find out which movies made the grade. ~Alexandra Heilbron
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has topped the box office for an amazing sixth weekend in a row. The blockbuster, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, took in another $18 million for a total haul of $917.8 million.
The Odyssey climbed back up a spot to second place in its eighth weekend, earning an extra $13 million. Christopher Nolan’s epic, starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway has a domestic total of $584.8 million.
Coyote vs. Acme dropped a spot to third place this weekend, earning $11.3 million for a two-week total of $33.8 million. The film follows Wile E. Coyote as he hires a lawyer (Will Forte) and takes ACME to court over the company’s many faulty products.
Debuting in fourth place with $7.4 million was the crime drama By Any Means, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as a young FBI agent forced to work alongside a mafia hitman played by Mark Wahlberg.
Rounding out the top five was was the horror movie Insidious: Out of the Further, which earned another $6.5 million for a total of $54.1 million.
