Toronto's waterfront is getting a superhero makeover this weekend as Supergirl and her loyal canine companion Krypto soar high above Lake Ontario in a stunt for the upcoming DC Studios film Supergirl.
The eye-catching installation features life-sized figures of Supergirl and Krypto roughly 50 feet in the air above the bow of the Northern Spirit I, creating the illusion that the pair are using a giant chain to pull the vessel through the harbour. The larger-than-life installation transforms Toronto's Harbourfront into the scene of a dramatic DC rescue mission, offering fans a unique photo opportunity.
The installation will travel along Toronto's Harbour and Lakeshore throughout the weekend before docking at 207 Queens Quay West for public viewing. Fans can stop by beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The waterfront spectacle arrives just a week before Supergirl hits theaters and IMAX. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, better known as Supergirl, alongside Jason Momoa, Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham and David Corenswet.
Based on DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the film follows Kara as she reluctantly teams up with an unlikely ally after a ruthless new enemy posions her beloved dog Krypto. Their journey sends them across the stars on a mission fueled by vengeance and justice.
The film arrives in theaters across North America on June 26, 2026.
