Two new movies debuted at the top of the weekend box office. Check below to find out which movies made the cut.
The Conjuring: Last Rites starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, debuted at the top of the weekend box office with $83 million, making it the third highest opening ever for a horror movie.
The Broadway hit Hamilton, filmed live onstage with the original Broadway cast, including Tony Award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, debuted in second with a take of $10 million.
The psychological thriller Weapons dropped to third place, earning an extra $5.4 million for a five-week haul of $143 million.
Freakier Friday, the body-swap Disney sequel, held onto fourth place, taking in another $3.8 million for a five-week total of $87.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was Caught Stealing starring Austin Butler, earning an extra $3.2 million for a two-week total of $15 million.
