Zac Efron's dog has passed away.
The 28-year-old actor took to Instagram to announce the death of his dog "Puppy" to his followers on Thursday. Zac posted a picture of him and Puppy embracing. The caption reads "Through thick and thin you’ve always been my best friend. I’ll see you at the finish line, RIP Puppy Efron."
Zac's tribute to his late Australian Shepherd finished with a quote from Chance the Rapper's song "Finish Line."
"Felt hog tied ever since my dog died/ He lived to 84, damn, that’s a long ride/ I know he up there he just sit and he wait/ I’ll be racing up the stairs I’mma get to the gate singing’ – Chance the Rapper," he concluded.
The Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates star got Puppy for Christmas in 2011 and if you check out Zac's Instagram photo below, they obviously shared a close bond.

I know how he feels to lose his best friend mine was a cat I had for 14 years, I was lost without Meko. Imight get a puppy next year but it is still raw. She died 3 years ago and I still miss her.
It's devastating to lose a pet. People who don't have furry friends have no idea the impact. Wishing him all the best.
Sorry to hear that Zac. It is so sad. I know, I lost Buffy, my Shi Tzu in December 2014. He was 14 yrs old. He was suffering since 2010 from Lupus. It was for the best. Your pet leaves paw prints on your heart.
