Born: December 18, 2001

Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell was born in Los Angeles. She and her older brother Finneas O'Connell were homeschooled, which allowed them to focus on creative interests from a young age. Raised in a musical and artistic household, the siblings began writing and recording songs together during childhood.

Billie gained widespread attention in 2015 after releasing "Ocean Eyes," a song written and produced by Finneas. The track went viral online and quickly launched her music career. She became known for her whispery vocals, dark pop sound, and emotionally honest songwriting. Her debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, released in 2019, included hits such as "Bad Guy" and "Bury a Friend," and established her as a global pop star.

In 2021, she released her second album, Happier Than Ever, which showed a more mature and emotionally layered sound. Billie also expanded into film music, recording "What Was I Made For?" for the Barbie (2023) soundtrack, which she created with Finneas. The song became a major success, winning both the Academy Award and Grammy Award for Best Original Song. She continued evolving her sound with Hit Me Hard and Soft in 2024.

In 2026 she released a tour documentary Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, directed by James Cameron.
