Maya Hawke Biography

The daughter of actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, Maya Hawke was born in New York City. She grew up in an artistic family with siblings and half-siblings and trained briefly at Juilliard School. After modeling for Vogue and in campaigns for Calvin Klein, she turned to acting.

Maya made her acting debut as Jo March in the 2017 BBC/Masterpiece Theatre mini-series Little Women before gaining widespread recognition as Robin Buckley on the popular Netflix series Stranger Things from 2019 to 2025. She has also appeared in films such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) and Wes Anderson's Asteroid City (2023). In addition to acting, Maya has a music career, blending folk influences with personal songwriting.

Maya married musician Christian Lee Hutson on February 14, 2026.
