Acting was superb, scenery was mesmerizing

Not the romantic movie I had hoped for. An assault on charm, love, and decency. Don’t go.

We have all seen Margo Robbie nude in enough movies already! Damages our ability to see her in many roles, especially Catherine Earnshaw. Wuthering Heights was required reading in high school, we know what the story should be.

We loved it! We saw it twice to understand better. Sad ending.

User review rating: 1 March 07, 2026

Awful worst movie ever need. Wish I had read the reviews first. So bad I left 1/2 mark and went home mad. They wonder why box office is down? Because of crap like WH!

User review rating: 1 March 07, 2026

Walked out after 20 minutes. There are no words …

User review rating: 1 March 07, 2026

I wanted out after the opening scene got my money refunded. Utter vulgar garbage. 1 star is 1 too many. I just read some reviews here, I made the right call 100%.

What an absolutely misleading trailer! SOOOO wish I could have looked at some reviews beforehand. It was like watching a horror movie. They associated death and torture with sexual pleasure. So dark in so many ways...I should have left after the opening scene!

User review rating: 1 March 07, 2026

Didn’t like the movie freak me out won’t go back to watch it

User review rating: 1 March 06, 2026

I wish I would have read the reviews before seeing it. I'd give it zero stars if could. Terrible!

If you are expecting to see a pretty, romantic Wuthering Heights, watch the original from 1939 on Turner Classic Movies on TV instead. Emily Bronte is rolling in her grave since this remake debuted! Dark and depressing. The main 2 characters go at it like a pair of rabbits throughout the movie. Such a deviation from 1939. And the ending, ugh! Don't waste your money!

It is hard to understand it most of the times.

The actors are great! I never thought the original was a wonderful love story, but i did love it I was so prepared to love this one.... this didn't have to be so graphic I wonder why so much more wasn't conveyed without going into the torture and abuse!!! Try a little more Hitchcock attitude next time..we didn't have to see but we " saw everything " it is the theatre of the mind after all. Be honest I think if they made this movie again it would look a little different.you had great actors but you didn't trust in them.

Some dummy said they were tricked into thinking the movie was romantic. Most people with a brain know what Wuthering Heights is all about.

I bought the book after seeing the movie. Books cover more territory, but the movie was terrific

This is an interpretation of a memory the director had when she read the book as a teenager. She deliberately shifted into fantasy, away from the source material. (Which is also messed up. So many coming on here shocked as though the book, also, isn’t disturbing.) I thought it was brilliant. Intense, dark, but also, utterly, devastatingly gorgeous. Not a blueprint to live your life, but a study in obsessive love.

True review: A messed up adopted step brother & his sister get it on, over and over and…over. Despite her marrying a seemingly good dude, she lusts after her sadistic, S&M, wierdo “adopted brother”, who in turn lusts after her. I’ve seen some bad flicks…this one takes the prize. You’re better off searching “Renfare S&M” at home than wasting life’s time & money to watch this garbage. Needless to say if you see pg13 advertised, it is absolutely not.

Disturbed to see young teenagers together viewing this movie. Story was imprinted with what the writers felt necessary to enhance? An already classic romance. Should be 18+ pardon my prudence. As I’m not.

Additional , out of period , let’s say sexual self touching and acts . Beautiful scenes costumes. Heath cliff great in payback scenes. Again, A bit sensational relationships . With some truth .

I had my reservations about seeing this - wished I had listened to them. This movie was plain awful and ugly.

User review rating: 1 February 24, 2026

I should’ve walked out after the disgusting opening scene. The director took great license with the interpretation and used red and black throughout to symbolize blood and violence. Characters were changed or left out altogether.

Dirty, sick trick played on audiences expecting a romantic movie. I imagine it could’ve been if they had left out the elements of sexual perversions and adultery. This is not a family movie, this is not a wholesome movie. This is not a date movie. This is not a decent movie. Don’t be deceived by the Hollywood hype. This is not a movie about lost romance to bring you to tears. This is a movie to cry for your own self for having seen.

vile, disgusting, perversion of the original book. We hated it and should have walked out after the first 1/2 hour!!

User review rating: 1 February 18, 2026

Disliked sexual conduct not necessary! Why can’t you just stick to the original script without adding sexual misconduct? Poor adaptation

User review rating: 3 February 18, 2026

While this movie was well cast and well acted, clearly the director felt a need to add overly sexualized and fetishistic elements that detracted from the original story about love, pride, and obsession. The original story had its share of shocking moments (digging up your lost love 10 years later to view the corpse - look it up - belief in ghosts, etc.) but, instead of these gothic elements, we get chaining up women - great (read sarcasm)! The love and obsession came through, but in an art-imitating-life moment, you will find yourself wanting to cover your youth's eyes, as Heathcliffe does to Cathy at 1 point so she doesn't view a bondage scene in the barn. These are poor directorial choices. They say sex sells, but I think we're all bored of this base content. Know your audience! Otherwise, it would have been a good film, with some deviations in script (such as the father and older brother characters being combined). The scenes of luxury at the Linton estate were satisfying, but Cathy was happiest running wild on the moors in her feisty relationship with her childhood friend.

If you thought you were going to see a romantic movie, think again. I am absolutely floored that anyone would be crying at the perceived romance that is supposedly the object of this movie. In actuality, it is only the notion of romance that brings people unwittinglyto the movie because it is mixed with bondage, whips, basic entry levels of sadomasochism. I felt I wanted to leave the movie soon into it. Weird. Weird. Weird. Yes he looks really handsome at certain points in the movie. Well, honestly, I never read the book and I had not anticipated that this would be anything but romance. I felt filthy after leaving it. Even though I shielded my eyes and my ears. If you like seeing actors having pretend sex, again, this is the movie for you. In the carriage, on the floor, on the table, anywhere everywhere. We’re supposed to root for the two adulterers. Not me. I’m just giving you a word of warning. If you’ve already been desensitized and you like this kind of BS, then go ahead, but I am trying to tell the people who haven’t lost their innocence and still want to see a good movie. This is not one of them.

A lusty, bloated rendering of the classic story of love, vegeance and regret on the Yorkshire moors. Key themes are minimized as the screenwriter/director puts lust and sex at the forefront, making for a strangely flat vibe throughout. Good performances from a strong cast, but this modernized version is little more than big-time melodrama. Alison Oliver is a scene stealer.

No chemistry between Heathcliff and Cathy -such a boring, awful script and lust NOT LOVE. Whoever dreamed this up should never put anything out again - not ever. Save your money, save your eyes. It was sickening and I've berated myself for not walking out sooner.

User review rating: 1 February 16, 2026

3 people in the theatre and 1 walked out early. Clearly tells you Don't Go! I lost all respect for these 2 main actors. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie tanks and it justifiably should. Beyond disgusting is the highest praise I can give this movie. If I can stop at least 1 person from wasting their money...this post will be worth it.

Great acting on part of Margo and jacob!!

User review rating: 4 February 15, 2026

Good movie. Very moving and extremely sad!!! Had to read this in high school and do a book report on it. Forgot a lot of the story. See it its wonderful

User review rating: 1 February 15, 2026

Tedious. Simply tedious. Walked out of this movie 40 minutes in. Save. Your. Money.

User review rating: 1 February 15, 2026

An abomination that has very little to do with the novel. Basically, a vehicle for the director to play out her S&M fantasies with Jacob Elordi.

User review rating: 3 February 15, 2026

Not the best movie I've seen. Very slow

User review rating: 2 February 13, 2026

Dislike all the sex and the beatings-more of a thriller!

User review rating: 5 February 06, 2026

The most breathtaking romance since Pretty Woman.
